Barberfest 2010
Well the Barberfest for October 2010 was as grand as any. No rain for the 3 days was a welcome change and no camping was the hot lick. Hot lick you say, very hot because the new Hampton Inn opened across from the track entrance. Blasé you say, well I thought so too until I walked into the lobby and saw the Moto Guzzi Dondolino endurance racer..
....in a glass case (true Barber fashion). All else was in true good taste fashion. Many clubs were present holding competition for many a trophy along with Bator auctioneers and Sir John Surtees as grand Marshall. The racing was intense and excellent along with a single entry in the 100 year race.
Sir John held a couple of autograph sessions between which he drove and rode some vintage vehicles around Mr. Barbers pristine track. I was very excited about the number of clubs holding their own judging events. This is my favorite entry. A Cyrus 50cc
Anyone who has info of any kind on this bike I would love to post it here. Email me please.
The auction was very feverous with many items for sale including a very nice MV Agusta 350 Electronica...
....bought at auction
The Baber festival is a great place to meet friends from around the country because of it's central location.
This place is a "Must See". Get a plan together to come next year you will not be sorry.
Here's hoping to wave from the oncoming lane.
